Types of Mutual Recognition Assessment

The following are descriptions of each preference as it applies to the Electrical Contractors Training Programme

CHALLENGE TEST

This assessment is only valid for licensed electrical tradespersons who hold, or have held, an electrical contractors licence issued by any Australian State Electricity Authority. Any applicant for this type of assessment must be the holder of a current Electrical Workers Licence endorsed as Electrical Mechanic and issued by any Australian State or Territory licensing authority. If you wish to apply for assessment please complete the enclosed Course Enrolment Form and the RPL section.

ADVANCED STUDIES

This assessment applies to those persons who can prove they are holders of qualifications in excess of those required for the Electrical Contractors Training Program. The program is based on the Electrical Contracting - Certificate IV of the Electrotechnology Industry Training Package UTE 99

Any applicant for this type of assessment that includes Module EA106 must be the holder of a current Electrical Workers Licence issued by any Australian State or Territory licensing authority. If you wish to apply for assessment please complete the enclosed Course Enrolment Form and the RPL section.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation 14 days or more prior to course commencement - 100% refund
  • Cancellation 7 - 13 days prior to course commencement - 90% refund
  • Cancellation less than 1 week's prior notice to course commencement - no refund

Construction Training Fund Subsidy

Some courses are subsidised by the Construction Training Fund and funding is available to any worker currently employed in the construction industry or if currently unemployed, has been employed in the Building Construction Industry in WA during the 6 months prior to attending the course. Mining, Gas or Oil sites are excluded.

Following full course payment, Subsidy Claim Forms will be available during the course for applicants to complete and forward to the CTF for a refund. The CSTA does not administer refunds. The CSTA wishes to acknowledge the continued support of the CTF as a positive encouragement for workers employed in this industry to expand their skills and knowledge.

Alternatively, some courses are offered at the subsidised cost. You correct selection is required depending on your eligibility otherwise your enrolment cannot be accepted.
