The Electrical Licensing Board and appropriate industry representatives in W.A, have endorsed this programme at a level of training that is consistent with the minimum needs of a person seeking to establish their own electrical contracting business.

EA102 - (One Week Course)
Second Week of Electrical Contractors Licence Course
- Evaluate those factors that influence the performances and structures of a small contracting Business
- Establish a marketing plan for a small contracting business
- Evaluate the labour costs and profit margins associated with a small contracting business

EA103A - Operation (Electrical) Legislative Requirements (One Day)
First Week of Electrical Contractors Licence Course
- Investigate and identify State Legislation relevant to the electrical operations of an organization in the provision of electrical services
- Analyse the intent and impleications of the identified legislation and apply it to the procedures and processes of an electrical contracting company

EA103B - General Legislative Requirements (One Day)
First Week of Electrical Contractors Licence Course
- Investigate and identify State/Federal Legislation as it applies to:
- The structure of an electrical contracting business
- Workplace relations and human resources
- The marketplace
- Analyse and describe the intent and implications of the identified State and Federal Legislation
- Establish an electrical operational plan and policies to give effect to the procedures, processes and legislative obligations of an electrical contracting business

EA106 - (WAE100) - Electrical Requirements (Three Days)
First Week of Electrical Contractors Licence Course
- Apply Australian electrical standards and relevant State publications to a variety of situations associated with small to large electrical installations
- Describe and apply specific statutory technical and occupational requirements associated with the functions and duties of electrical personnel
- Analyse and apply the correct sequence of procedures for inspection, testing and commissioning of electrical installations
- Analyse and apply the correct sequence of procedures for the inspection and testing of electrical appliances
- Determine and observe appropriate safety and supervisory procedures in an electrical environment
Wednesday: 7.30am – 4.00pm
Thursday: 7.30am - 4.00pm
Friday: 7.30am - 4.00pm

CTF Subsidy
This course is subsidised by the Construction Training Fund and funding is available to any worker currently employed in the construction industry or if currently unemployed, has been employed in the Building Construction Industry in WA during the 6 months prior to attending the course. Mining, Gas or Oil sites are excluded.
Following full payment, Subsidy Claim Forms will be available during the course for applicants to complete and forward to the CTF for a refund. The CSTA does not administer refunds. The CSTA wishes to acknowledge the continued support of the CTF as a positive encouragement for workers employed in this industry to expand their skills and knowledge.
